Behavioral Therapy focuses on changing behaviors and how that could lead to changes in thoughts and feelings. The goal is to increase positive interactions.
For example, with ADHD, it can help increase self esteem and control with the following techniques:
- Role Playing— Developing new skills and anticipate issues that may come up in social interactions (Impulse control and emotional regulation).
- Behavior Modification(work on together, but utilize at home) — Developing reward systems for needs that have been identified such as following through, positive behaviors, and structure.
