How to be more mindful …
Start by approaching your mind and body with curiosity rather than with fear, start working on shifting the thought process by:
*Mindful breathing – Focusing your thoughts on the breath coming in and leaving your body. It can be difficult as our minds get filled with thoughts. So, if you notice your mind wandering, don’t judge, gently bring it back to the breath.
*Non-judging – Become aware of the constant stream of judging and reacting to inner and outer experiences.
*Patience – Accept the fact that things sometimes unfold in their own time.
*Beginner’s Mind – By being open and curious to new possibilities, it prevents us from getting stuck in the habit of our own ways.
*Trust – Develop trust with yourself, knowing it’s OK to make mistakes, allow for grace.
*Non-Striving – The goal is to be right here, right now, paying attention to what is occurring without trying to change anything.
*Acceptance – See things as they are, no matter what is happening.
*Letting Go – We tend to hold on to thoughts, emotions, and situations, letting go allows you to move forward.
